Xanana Wrongly Accuses Woodside Supporters of Using Veterans/STL/Pedro Belo Issue to "Divide the Timorese People"

Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao said that the recent problem that has emerged between the country’s veterans, Police Commander, Pedro Belo and the newspaper Suara Timor Loro Sa’e was not a big problem, but that it has been sparked by certain people.
“This is the intention of other people, because they want to create instability in the country,” Gusmao said.
Gusmao affirmed that Timor-Leste was currently in a “war of words” with the Woodside Company and that therefore we had to be careful with some people will try to divide the people of Timor-Leste.
Gusmao stressed that these people used the opportunity to spark this problem in order to create instability in the country.
