UNMIT Photo of the Day Gallery

The 2010 Population and Housing Census is launched today. Implemented by the National Statistics Directorate and supported by UNFPA, 4,000 census staff will gather data until 25 July. While nations normally undertake censuses every ten years, the changes to the population since the first census was taken in 2004 have been great enough to warrant a new census this year. Preliminary results will be available in October.
