Brisbane soldiers arrive in East Timor

Soldiers from Brisbane's 8th and 9th Battalion have arrived in East Timor.

The 78 soldiers will replace a contingent of more than 250 Australian soldiers who have been serving in the International Stabilisation Force.

72 soldiers from the Townsville-based 2nd Battalion will return home this week.

Australia will cut back its troop committment in East Timor from 650 last year down to 400 by the end of the month.
