As part of the food security and livelihoods project, 15 primary schools in the Baucau District will establish school gardens to help improve nutrition by promoting the consumption of vegetables in the daily diet. Supported by the Spanish Government, it aims at bringing variety, quality and quantity of foods produced in the community through increasing farmers’ capacity and promoting the transition from subsistence farming to a more market-orientated approach to production.
